Journal Article 2025 11 19 The terms Imam, Imamate, and Imamiyya represent some of the most fundamental concepts in Islamic thought. Throughout history, they have faced significant conceptual and interpretive challenges within various theological and intellectual traditions of Islam. These concepts are reflected not only in the works of Muslim theologians but also in classical lexicons, where their meanings and usages have undergone notable transformations over time. With the rise of the translation movement in the Islamic world and the subsequent transmission of Islamic knowledge to the West, these crucial terms were often neglected or semantically reduced in many translated and secondary sources. This study adopts a theoretical and descriptive approach to examine the evolution and representation of these concepts in Islamic lexical and theological texts. It seeks to provide a framework for the study of specialized Islamic terminology based on authentic Muslim sources. The research first analyzes the place and function of each term within linguistic and theological contexts, and then explores their conceptual and historical dimensions within the discourse of Imamiyya. The findings demonstrate that a precise understanding of these terms requires returning to the linguistic, epistemological, and theological contexts in which they emerged. Only through such an approach can these concepts be authentically and accurately represented in contemporary Islamic studies. اصطلاحات امام، امامت و امامیه، برخی از بنیادی‌ترین مفاهیم در اندیشه اسلامی را نشان می‌دهند. در طول تاریخ، این مفاهیم با چالش‌های مفهومی و تفسیری قابل توجهی در سنت‌های مختلف کلامی و فکری اسلام روبرو بوده‌اند. این مفاهیم نه تنها در آثار متکلمان مسلمان، بلکه در فرهنگ‌های لغت کلاسیک نیز منعکس شده‌اند، جایی که معانی و کاربردهای آنها در طول زمان دستخوش تحولات قابل توجهی شده است. با ظهور جنبش ترجمه در جهان اسلام و متعاقباً انتقال دانش اسلامی به غرب، این اصطلاحات حیاتی اغلب در بسیاری از منابع ترجمه شده و ثانویه مورد غفلت قرار گرفته یا از نظر معنایی کاهش یافته‌اند. این پژوهش با رویکردی نظری و توصیفی، سیر تحول و بازنمایی این مفاهیم را در متون لغوی و کلامی اسلامی بررسی می‌کند. این پژوهش می‌کوشد تا چارچوبی برای مطالعه اصطلاحات تخصصی اسلامی بر اساس منابع معتبر اسلامی ارائه دهد. این پژوهش ابتدا جایگاه و کارکرد هر اصطلاح را در بافت‌های زبانی و کلامی تحلیل می‌کند و سپس ابعاد مفهومی و تاریخی آنها را در گفتمان امامیه بررسی می‌کند. یافته‌ها نشان می‌دهد که فهم دقیق این اصطلاحات مستلزم بازگشت به بافت‌های زبانی، معرفت‌شناختی و کلامی است که در آنها پدیدار شده‌اند. تنها از طریق چنین رویکردی می‌توان این مفاهیم را به طور اصیل و دقیق در مطالعات اسلامی معاصر بازنمایی کرد. https://www.jat-journal.ir/article_237296_20474d5686ebe04937fbff9d214bcc18.pdf
